Just About Lately

What I've Been Up To L ately, the Philippines had chains of blows from flood to 2 typhoons named Helen and Igme, all in just 2 weeks. And recently, we lost an honest and straight politician; DILG secretary  Jesse Robredo who was in my personal prayers since the time of the search and rescue operation of the plane he traveled with; a small four-seat, twin-engine Piper Seneca plane that crashed into the sea of the central Masbate province while attempting an emergency landing. A lot of people are hoping and praying that he and the pilots are still alive. But after 3 days, I read from twitter that his body was found inside the fuselage of the plane which sank 180 ft deep. As I read about the news, I sat on the edge of our bed and was silent at first and said a short prayer for him. I never thought that I would shed a tear for someone I never knew personally, maybe because he died in a tragic accident which is also the cause of my Papa's untimely death that happen...

Chili Poppers

Image
Cooking O riginally, this recipe came from one of the blogs I follow, the Weir Family . It is called “Jalapeño Poppers” . I love chili stuff so much and I find this one different and so I tried it. Since it was my first time to do it, I didn’t perfect it. I overcooked the bacon strips but it still taste good, “crunchy bacon strips”  . My husband didn’t find a jalapeño and so I ended up with a long chili, as it was written in the tag, I’m not sure. So this one is really hot  . You can try other chili as it suite you, provided that it can be stuffed with cheese.  Here are the ingredients and procedures: Ingredients: 12 fresh Long Chili Cream cheese Grated cheddar cheese 12 bacon strips DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 250. Cut chili in half lengthwise. Using a spoon, scrape out the seeds and membranes. Leave a little bit of seed if you like it hotter.   In a bowl, combine the cream cheese and the cheddar cheese. Mix with a ...

Dinner at Tony Roma's Ribs Seafood Steak

Eating-Out I t's the first day of Ramadan and the night is longer here in the Middle East. After a week of hubby’s night shift job, he decided to take us out for dinner. We went to Mall of Dhahran so it will be easier for us to push around with our newborn’s bulky stroller; it was actually his first night-out. We can’t decide yet where to eat so we walk for a while in the long aisle of the mall. The place is so quiet and there’s not much crowd yet, very typical for the first night of Ramadan. And a fter 15  minutes of walking my tummy starts to rumble so I told my husband to try out Tony Roma since I am craving for some steak these past few days. As we enter the place, a Kabayan greeted us and helped us in getting a table. He noticed our baby and asks how old is he and was surprised to find out that our baby is only 17 days old. Kabayan: Totoo? (While peeping into my son’s stroller with so much surprise) Me: Yup! ☺ Kabayan: Eh paano tahi nyo? Me: Medyo okay na...

TESTIMONY Jeremiah 32:17     Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: W e went to the hospital this afternoon for my antenatal check-up and we’ve been going there every week now because I’m on my 36th weeks. I was the 4rth patient, thank God, because there was a lot of patient, I can’t bear sitting for longer periods now.   I was really hoping for good news from the doctor because a couple of weeks ago my ultrasound revealed that my placenta went down from 2.5 cm to 1.9 cm. The doctor said we can’t expect any progress at this stage. But I did not lose hope. I know and I believe that God will not leave me nor forsake me. I didn’t stop praying and believing that in this time of crisis, He will perform a miracle. So as my doctor is preparing the diagnostic ultrasound, she was telling me:    “I don’t think that there’s any progress at all especially ...
