It’s my mother’s birthday today and she is now 61 years old. But there is something sad every time this day comes. Because two days after her birthday it will be my father’s death anniversary.
Who would have thought that 4 years ago, August 19,2006 , it’ll be my Mama’s last birthday together with Papa. And it will also be her last birthday with us here in the Middle East.
I had kept a few of our pictures in my external hard disk during her last birthday with us. It was just a small gathering with few family friends and brethren in Christ.
Everything seems to be going on so smoothly during that night, my elder sister was also with us who was in visit visa that time. And if I remember it right, that night we had a bible study first and then had a snack after it with the all time favourite Pancit Palabok from Al Bahar. We even had a an additional family member that time in the person of my brother’s wife and they were expecting a bay boy, though my brother was not around because he was still at work.
It’s been three years now that we’re not celebrating this special day of Mama together cause we are oceans and deserts apart. Though that time we thought that the whole family will be staying here in the Middle East together for a longer time, you can even tell by the smiles of my mother in the pictures. But two days after that special day, our lives turned 180 degrees.
